For good or ill, apps live and die by their rating in the app store. What makes this measure worse is that all too often a disproportional number of those reviews come from disgruntled customers. This is were big data comes in. Using text analytics, customer usage patterns (big data), customer feedback (big data), in-house account information (big data), and logistic regression I was able to direct my team to improve our app. Not only did we improve our app, we took it from 2.5 stars to 4.7 stars.
